Doll Of The Month – October 2014

I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on as “Doll of the month”.

Doll of the month for October is this old woman, who is inspired of the middle age and has this  medieval look. First of all the inspiration came from the wool I have used for her hair. It looked so much as the hair of an old woman and as I started to braid it, I could see that it would be perfect for an old distinguished woman, with a lot of story “in her”.

She is designed to hang on a wall and as she is rather big she looks impressing. Her head is made with my technique for faces and there are a lot of details in the face and in the hands too.

Size: 77 cm x 30 cm

The price is $475. This includes shipping. Only the one dolls is available so if you click on the “Buy Now”-link and the dolls has already been sold you will get an error message. Click below if you would like to buy the doll. You will be taken to the website of PayPal where you can pay by credit card (you don’t need a PayPal-account).

    Hi Birgitte,

I just purchased your book: New Felt and am thrilled.
Your work is by far the most realistic and beautiful that I have ever seen.
I live in Mount Shasta, CA and got hooked on needle felting about a year ago. I so look forward to instruction and inspiration from your book!
    Thank You,
    Kathleen Lunsford
