Gallery 23 – Animals In Sheep’s Clothes

This gallery contains pictures from my latest exhibition (November 2004), called “Animals in sheepclothes”.

The inspiration to this theme came from 13 fleeces that I brought home from Norway last year. The fleeces are from the wild sheep in Norway which has a very beautifull wool. Very course and with many different nature colours.I have chosen fleeces that were already felted on the sheep, but still the surface was fine.

I have then made a bodyshape of the animal and “dressed” it with the fleece. Most of the animals are made from theese Norwegian fleeces, but the brown dog and the lions are made of Danish spelsau and the icebearskinn is made of wool from Greenland.
