In wonderful sunny weather the Norwegian felt makers celebrated their 10 years jubilee at Domkirkeodden in Hamar.
Just to be in these special architectural surroundings was an event itself and the felted objects on he big exhibition were perfect on the beautiful stonewalls.
The exhibited things were from members of the Norwegian felt union and from invited guests from Scandinavia. In Norway you can only be member of the union if your work has been accepted and that gives a very high quality to their felt.
The jubilee had also several lectures: First we heard about the felt in Scandinavian countries from May Jacobsen Hvistendahl Norway and Gunilla Sjöberg Sweeden, Lena Sipila Finland and Bente Lykke Denmark. There was also lectures from Charlotte Buch Denmark, Elina Saari Finland and me Birgitte Krag Hansen Denmark.
Sunday there was a fashion show, where the Norwegian felt makers and guests from Scandinavia showed how very high the quality is on their textile felt now. During the event there was market with booths, where you could buy materials for felt and also booths with felted things. Especially one booth was spectacular and it belonged to Elina Saari from Finland. She makes very colourful and “Wild” things, which we also saw at the fashion show, and her lecture was as funny and colourful as her things.
On the picture gallery you can receive an impression of the beautiful surroundings and there are examples from the exhibition and the fashion show.
The last tree pictures are from a course I gave at May Hvistendahls beautiful house which has all the facilities you need for courses.
