I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".

A funny little puppet clown is doll of the month for June. And how did he appear? The story about him is, that he came from a shape I had been working on for an animal and then suddenly he was there with his little thick belly and his long thin neck, that makes him very suited for puppet theatre and also suited for telling stories with- so no animal this time.

Because of his very movable arms and neck he is so easy and funny to act with and he has got big clown shoes on, but simple clothes that will not disturb his acting.

He is made with the technique where I needle parts together so they become movable in the joints, only here I have on purpose made the lower part of the body more heavy and stiff, so he is planted very good at the base he is resting on and therefore easier to act with.

While I have worked on him, people have seen him in the window of my studio and that is a good way of getting response. Children love him but to my surprise young people stop too and laugh and have fun when they see him.

Usually I don´t give names to my dolls, but with this little guy it is different. He needs a name and that name is from one of the very old travelling circuses in Denmark. It was called CIRKUS BUSTER so the little clown is called “BUSTER”.
