I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as “Doll of the month”.
This month my inspiration came from wool that I found in my stock. This wool reminded me of Gandalf and his big grey hair and I had to work with a type like his and it showed up to be very interesting, because I could use the technique I have developed and work with the colors of his face to give him his special character.
To give him the middle aged look, I even knitted the little piece of his sleeves that can be seen. His hands were made so you can see what kind of life he has lived.
Usually I don’t want to use other materials than wool for my felt but here I found a very old tool that fitted for him and gave the right atmosphere.
This “doll” is not yet for sale, because I want to use him for a project.
His size is 20×30 cm.
