I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as “Doll of the month”.
Doll of the month in February is a big raw fleece relief with dog heads needled into the fleece.
The fleece inspired to make those dogs with a lot of hair and with long ears. The fleece is already felted on the sheep and allthough the surface with its long stables is so fine. The two pairs of dogs have got extra wool added for their ears taken from another piece, which can be seen because the added wool is a little darker and that makes the outline of the dogs easier to see.
This relief is not for sale as it is going to be exhibited together with other reliefs of the same kind. Right now I am working on a big orangutan mother looking up at her baby jumping in the treebranches.
