I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".
Doll of the month this January is a snowman - even though we have not any snow at all, so he reminds us of last year at the same time where Denmark was buried in snow.
The body of the snowman is build up as a cylinder shape and then I have found some of my very best white wool that has the most wonderful long curly stables.
I start from the bottom of the cylinder shape and needle each staple on, letting the lowest pointed end hang loose. Then I go on with the next layer a little higher up, until I have reached the top of the shape letting the last layer of stables be looser so it looks more like hair on the snowman.
He has also a very little touch of lilac that gives a feeling of cold together with little dots of silver shiny fibers needled on - all over the body. The snowman is 25 cm high.
