I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".

This month I have a special cat as doll of the month for you. It is one of the examples of an animal that has stayed by me for a while before I have been able to part from it, but now in this wonderful bright spring I took it out in the nature to see how it looked there and now it is all right for me to part from it because I have these nice photos of it.

The cat is made with the technique, where I first make all the parts of the body and then needle them together to the basic shape of the cat. Then I start to add different shapes on the basic form and especially the face is made with so many little details to give a sweet cats expression.

Another special thing about this cat is that I have used wool for the surface that I have been saving for this purpose. It is wool that I got when I was invited by a felt friend to visit a German factory where I saw the dye process and this wool I got was waste that could not be used and as it was striped like a cat I found it so fantastic for my purpose and I was so lucky that I could bring some of it home. The cat is 18 cm high and 11 cm broad.
