I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".

The doll has been sold

The doll of the month for August is this nice old grandfather who retired some years ago and now is enjoying the summer together with the other pensioners at the bench by the harbour. He is wearing his old worn trousers and his undershirt has become grey from all the times it has been washed.

I was inspired from the grandmother that I made as doll of the month for July this year. I could imagine how her husband would look and here he is. The technique I used is the one where I first needle all parts of the body and then needle them together in the position that fits for this particular person. Then I needle shapes on the body that gives him his personality together with the expression of his face and this face is made with the latest new technique I developed. The grandfather is 20 cm high
