The doll has been sold.

I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".

This sculptural doll (see pictures below) is the doll of the month for December on Feltmaking.com. The inspiration for this little guy comes from what we in Scandinavia call a ”nisse”. He is needle felted with the technique I developed, that makes him very movable, so he can look very much alive when you touch him. A “nisse” is only from 10-25 cm high (this particular one is 25 cm high) and he is supposed to live his life on a farm. It is not only at Christmas time he is there. He will be there the whole year round and is a kind of guardian spirit for the farm. Normally people don’t see him, but they might catch a glimpse of his red (or green) pointed pixie hat. He can be a little funny and helpful guy or a malicious guy if the people on the farm don’t treat him well, so every evening they must place good food for him in the barn and at Christmas time a bowlful of rice porridge with butter.
