I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".

This month I have made a sweet old pixie grandmother. She has nice wrinkles and she has a good fat tummy and is sitting there to watch all the Christmas preparations in the house. Here in Scandinavia she we call these kind of pixies a “NISSE” and she is a typical one. I don´t want make many of those because I want them to be very individual and they get more personal when I don´t make too many. That also means, that it is both wonderful but also difficult to have to send her away.

The last days she has been sitting near my working chair while I worked on her and together with her were two little child pixies that are meant to crawl around everywhere and they will be sent to a family in France.

It was not difficult to get the inspiration for her and she is made with the technique where I make parts of the body individual and then needle them together. Her clothes are made of wool that I bought from “Harrisville Wool” USA and it is a perfect wool that I love because it is mixed in a way that makes it look traditional. The pixie grandmother is 23 cm high
