I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".

The doll of the month for January 2009 is a real winter figure - an Ice Queen that finds her best place out in the frozen nature where she - with her white body - fits to the surroundings and specially the frozen lake. She will though fit perfectly for a marble surface or another kind of stone surface, maybe in a winter garden or in a windowsill.

She is made of Finn wool that I have washed and prepared myself from the raw fleece and I have needled all the parts of the body step by step with dots of wool and at last needled them together and continued needling dots on the surface. At last she has got faint light blue silk shadows needled on her, to make her look even more icy and also just a little white synthetic fleece that makes her sparkle. The silk is wonderfully dyed of Inge Bauer from Germany. The Ice Queen is rather big compared to the figures I use to make for my website: She is 60 cm. long.
