I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".

The doll has been sold

This nice old grandmother is a type that likes all the fruit and vegetables that the garden produces this time of the year. When it took her to my garden to make photos of her, she was so nice to look at wherever I placed her and especially together with the red apples, so I could also imagine that she would be perfect sitting in a fruit plate between the apples.

She is made with the technique where I first make a skeleton of long soft pipe cleaners and then wrap a layer of wool around it. After that I sculpture shapes of wool and needle them to the skeleton. That means that you will be able to move arms and legs to different positions because of the pipe cleaner and that makes her look like she is telling a new story with each movement.

At first I tried to give her brown typical grandmother stockings but that did not fit her at all, so I had to give her this ordinary skin colored ones. Her dress is made from one of the wonderful mixed colors that the firm Harrisville produces. It is just perfect for an old grandmother. She is 30 cm high
