For nearly one year I have worked with a new book, that has the working title "FELT -easy and fun".
I have been asked many times to write a book that was made for beginners, who wants to have something easy to start with -and for children, who with this book will be able to sit and make the models when they work from the instruction photos.
The idea behind the book is, that the models are build up in a very simple way, but they are although very sweet and the funny thing is, that you can move the parts of the model around and that way you can make all kinds of variations of each figure, so you can even make theatre with them when you place them or play with them, because they are very movable and that way they look so much alive.
The book will be published in the autumn and will be translated to English later.

My editor Claus Dalby from Klematis Publishers is making the photos for the book.

I often get visitors in my workshop from many places in the world, but last Thursday it was an unusual visit. It was a Family from Nepal, that I have got to know on the internet. They have a feltcompany, that I have followed for about two years from it started as a little local firm till now, where they sell their things in Europe and USA.
I have written an article about them in the Danish feltmagazine "Grima".
What is special about Amrit is, that it is very important for him to make good designed things at the same time as it is important for him, that he gives work to poor people in his country. Now he had taken this big chance to go to a fair in Franfurt to show his things there, and in that connection he came to Denmark. They have never visited the western world before so it was a great experience for them and it was very exiting to have Kalpana and Amrit as guests. You can read more on their website www.kalpanacrafts.com

This nice old grandmother is doll of the month for July. She is a type that you would find in the garden with her flowers, in the vegetable garden or in the forest - and that was where I brought her to make these photos.
