I am often contacted by visitors who would like to buy dolls they have seen in the picture galleries. But all of these dolls have been made as part of projects or have been pre-ordered a long time before they were made. Due to lack of time I only make a very limited number of dolls each year, but I have decided to make some of these dolls available on Feltmaking.com as "Doll of the month".
This month I have chosen to let this golden eagle be the "doll” of the month. I have become very fascinated by this proud bird while I have worked with it for my new book.

A whole long dye-day -gave a new idea |

Thursday it was time to supplement my rainbow-dyed raw fleece and my carded batts.I had promised to help my sister to dye her homespun yearn too, so we had arranged a good long day for that project.
I dye in my oven in the roasting pan. I springle dyepowder on the wet wool and press the colours together. Now because my sister had a certain imagination of how her yarn should look, I had to be very, very carefull not to springle too much powder on and then suddenly I got the idea to pour just a little dyepowder on a wet piece of wool and then I could press it down on the yarn and make it much more accurate.Such a simple idea but incredible effective. |

The doll I have chosen for this month is one of my favourites. She is not quite new, because I wanted to keep her until I felt she was ready to be sold.

After Novembers and Decembers very hectic period with orders and Christmas sale from my workshop it was good to pack the pixies in boxes and start on a fresh.
The last editing of my new book is postponed about twoo month and that has suddenly given me a period with time to work on big things for the exhibition i have wanted to concentate on for long. Right now I am about to felt a big eagle relief that is going to have a landscape in it as well as several eagles in different sizes -more or less in relief. |

January’s doll of the month is this happy little old man who is made from carded wool that I brought home from a course I gave in Norway where we made pigs.
