Again this month it is the wool that gave me the inspiration for the doll of the month. When I was looking for some wool for the big eagle project, that I am working on right now, then I found some wool that made me think of the mane of a lion. I had made one before, for my book “Animal Felt” and I wanted to try to make it a little different.

I am back from a wonderfull teaching tour to Norway. It was a wool-seminar by Tone Tveit who has the firm "Ullform".
Charlotte Buch from Denmark and Dagmar Binder from Germany were teaching there too and we were at a wonderfull place in an old spinning mill that was wonderfully restored.
More about that later.

I am teaching at the woolseminar by Tone Tveit in Norway from May 25.- June 10.
In this period you can order books and online courses but I will not be able to send the books untill I return and you will not get acces to the online course untill I return.
Doll of the month has holiday this month and will be back next month. |

My first YouTube video!!! This video shows the amazing possibilities of making a needle felted doll look alive. The young lion was made from different kinds of wool using the felting needle.

This month I am invited to exhibit on an exhibition in Fairbanks, Alaska. The exhibition is called: INTERNATIONAL POLAR YEAR EXHIBITION 2009.
The international polar year began March 2007 and was celebrated around the world in 60 countries with scientific research projects on global warming, polar bears, ice and the changes with arctic people, their families and activities. In Denmark there has also been many arrangements to celebrate the Polar Year. Alaska is now one of the last places to have an exhibition.
I participate on the exhibition with 3 animal reliefs: A polar bear, an eagle and a white mountain goat. |
