Here Guri is working with the last part of long pieces for our common big room installation, that should be finished for the opening at galleri Magica in Roskilde May 19.
My friend Guri and I are now working on our exhibition at the gallery Magica. There will be an opening May 20. but the big room-installation that we are working on, takes a lot of time to make. Guri is making the croches net and I am making the human size women sculptures that will be placed in this installation.
The autumn season 2016 was extremely busy with 3 exhibitions right after each other.
Here I show pictures from one of these.
I was very glad to have the opportunity to make this exhibition with the theme “women”.
It has been a busy year in many ways with exhibitions, courses and private students at my studio. Thanks for visiting the website and I wish you and your family a very happy new year!
The opening of the exhibition “Felt in Nature” showed that there was a big interest for this exhibition. Here I show you how all the masks and dreamcatchers looked when they were arranged in the nature.
September the 3. my exhibition “Felt in nature” opens at Fjordgaarden, that is an experience and learning farm that grows organic food. The place where the farm lies is really beautiful, lying down at the fjord. On the farm they have all the animals there used to be on a farm the old days and among them gotland sheeps.
My little wool sprout has come alive in my garden
Now I have had my second course with the new technique I developed for making women s portraits. It has been very very interesting to see how good results the sudents get. None of them had ever been drawing or painting a face before and then it is really surpricing that they can make a needle felted portrait. Another thing that is surpricing is that many of the portraits looked more or less like the photo the students had brought and that was really not expected -only that the students made a personal portrait.
The local newspaper Nordvestnyt has visited my workshop and made a fine aticle.
During the latest two years I have been working intence with needling different women portraits. I have developed my own techniques and have used it for big exhibition works as well as just studies of interesting womens expressions.
There has been very much interest about these portraits and my students have asked for courses with this tehnique. Therefore I had to make a version of the technique that has made it possible to to make a potrait on a course even though the students had never tried to make a face before.
